Protecht.ca scans are designed to detect more than 50,000 known network, operating system and application vulnerabilities and are executed without any impact on your devices. That is why more businesses have worked with Protecht.ca to manage their security.

All scans come with a Protecht Report Card that uses Protecht.ca’s proprietary metrics system to gauge your score against industry standards and give you a better understanding of where you stand and where you can improve your security posture.

Protecht.ca offers four types of Vulnerability Scanning:

Top 25 Vulnerability Scanning

Protecht.ca’s Top 25 Vulnerability Scan determines whether your site passes the SANS Top 25 Security Vulnerabilities list as defined by SANS, the FBI and FedCIRC. It is a preliminary scan and makes sure that your company is not part of the low hanging fruit.

External Vulnerability Scanning

Protecht.ca will conduct an examination of the potential vulnerabilities to the perimeter network under the premise of a “Zero Knowledge Attack”. This methodology includes gathering publicly available information about company.

Our complete scanning engine, ProTScan, is designed to detect security flaws at your network perimeter and provide guidance to address these exploits. External vulnerability scanning with ProTScan is a requirement to meet the security requirements of several industry and regulatory standards.

Internal Scanning

The internal scan focuses on system configurations and security policies. In the event an attacker compromises a single system, you would want to contain the attack to avoid further penetration of your infrastructure. The vulnerabilities discovered by an internal scan will help you to be proactive and update your systems in order to solidify your security posture. Protecht.ca's Managed Internal Vulnerability Scanning (IVS) service provides the ability to view and scan network assets from behind the firewall, providing a comprehensive view of the business's IT environment. Once started, the IVS scans all of the computers, databases, printers, servers and networking devices to identify any vulnerabilities based on current threats.

Protecht.ca Vulnerability Scanning Appliance

The Protecht.ca Appliance works by making vulnerability scanning in-office, where it will scan your computers for up to 50.000 Remote Signatures that are updated daily. Then you can setup the Protecht.ca Appliance to automatically scan your network(s) and when it finds new vulnerabiliites it will alert you.

The Protecht.ca Appliance is ideal for both small and medium-size businesses desiring a standalone vulnerability scanner. The browser-based console provides the ability to centrally manage an entire network located around the globe from a single interface.

The ability to schedule daily, weekly, or monthly scans across your business, combined with automatic updates, ensures that new vulnerabilities are detected and reported promptly.
